The company ifm, partner for industrial automation, has introduced encoway, a configuration solution that strengthens system sales on the ifm sales platform and opens up additional sales potential.
The configurator is an innovative consulting service for technically complex system solutions. It is integrated into ifm’s comprehensive eCommerce platform. This integration also includes the connection to the PIM system to utilise product features from the PIM in encoway CPQ Studio as well as the connection to an ERP for displaying prices and availability. Users can find their complete solutions, including accessories, on the sales platform independently in the familiar look and feel of ifm – and without media discontinuity.
The goals of the configuration solution:
- Reduction of incorrect orders
- Ensuring the compatibility of the components
- Increased sales of (high-margin) accessories
- Digitalisation of application and product knowledge to enable less experienced prospects, customers and new sales colleagues in particular to put together suitable system solutions with confidence
- A faster product launch, adapted to the respective markets
The configuration solution has been and is being implemented step by step. A first version for the selection of measuring points was successfully presented at the Anuga FoodTec trade fair in 2024.
